DATA PROCESSING

We process raw field data through a number of steps, resulting in validated, internally consistent robust data. This uses relevant extant control information and a transparent editing process to reduce the impact of data issues on subsequent steps in the investigation process such as model estimation. This work applies tailored code to permit data processing to start with raw data from the survey firm and work through the processing to produce clean data without manual intervention. All immediate inputs, such as data edits, are contained in independent files, to improve auditability of this step of the project.
